Excludes:
•Excess Reduction which reduces excess to $225 + GST
•Airport/ Wharf Fee ( A charge of $40 + GST will apply to hires commencing or terminating at all airport locations and ferry terminals. This is to be paid directly to Avis at the commencement of hire. This is paid only once per rental)
•Miscellaneous Charges
•Petrol
•Petrol security bond of $150 to be paid at the commencement of the hire
Car Insurance options:
Excess - $3000.00 (or $3750 for 4WD and Stationwagon) plus GST, this is required as a BOND payable through Credit Card or Cash.
This excess can be reduced to $225 plus GST by purchasing EXCESS REDUCTION INSURANCE at $25.00 (plus GST) per day( for economy, compact, intermediate, standard) or $28.00 (plus GST) per day(for luxury, 4WD, luxury van).

Car great, shame about the service
Our booking was handled by a very unhelpful staff member - she didn't smile once, took ages to process etc. Not a great look for Avis!

Great experience from booking to pick up and wonderful holiday. Great car and very good value with the cut price ski lift passes.
Avis actually had two bookings for me - one that I had prepaid and another that was just a booking with no $'s up front. A hiccup at the end when they were going to charge me for the whole hirage and I had prepaid. They then discovered the two bookings. I had to wait a few minutes while they sorted it out.

Car Hire booking
I let my print out at home with my booking number and AVIS were going to charge my creadit card again as they didn't have any record of it.
So a bit disappointing that they have no record that I have paid you. I had to chase up Avis a number of times.

AVIS Rent A Car
A near new Mitsubishi Outlander was provided as booked. Service was courteous and helpful at pick-up in Christchurch. Car was immaculate - never had better - can't rate it high enough!
Drop=off at Christchurch went without a hitch 12 days later
